Abstract

To effectively fulfill its role, Intelligence must be able to understand scenarios, predict threats, protect knowledge, and keep its human resources permanently up to date. To keep up with all those tasks, it cannot undervalue the importance of the human factor for the configuration of the environments and situations covered. This paper, starting from a discussion about the importance of varying the analytical scale, proposes a psychological framework designed for the activity of profiling. The model was based on the works of Richard Bloom, as well as on some classical psychological theories, as, for example, the works of Bandura, Skinner, Perls, Hefferline & Goodman, Kurt Lewin and Ribeiro. The model is presented as a sequence of tasks designed for multidisciplinary teams with backgrounds in both analysis and operations. Validation methods, as well as possible applications in the fields of targeting and human sources are discussed.
